Hey there everyone, sorry I've been somewhat incommunicado as of late. The convention season was a slight bit of a handful this year, and a good deal of my free time has been me taking care of some personal responsibilities that I've been neglecting. Altogether though I'm back before the month (and the summer for that matter) are over to provide some quick updates.
Currently I'm in the middle of a fairly big art-spurt as it were and am making some significant strides with not only the commissions list, but also some personal projects I've had on the back burner. It's been a while since I've been this productive artistically, but unfortunately I'm lacking in a good/decent scanner to bring it all to you. Worry not though folks, as I am eyeing up a fairly nice 11 x 17 inch flatbed scanner at my local Office Depot. It's just a matter of gathering the funds for it first...
As for the aforementioned 100th post, this very post here marks the 99th, so I've been delaying somewhat on doing anything here because I want to do something special to mark the occasion. I didn't know if I wanted to post some short stories I've been working on, or even a post a few concept pages I had for The Nexus. After much deliberating on the matter for the last two weeks, I've decided that the next post will be none other than the first recordings I did for Blood Code Radio. There's no time like the present to get that off the ground I suppose, though to be quite frank, I didn't want to start posting any recordings til I had several of them (so that way I could have some level of consistent updates after launch) but perhaps having these first couple up will motivate future updates. I also haven't forgotten my obligations to The Gold Standard or my review of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, so you have those to look forward to. Honestly there's a ton of material I want to manifest here on the blog, mostly it's just a matter of getting the time for it all.
In regards to the conventions I've gone to, Bronycon and Otakon are set to have proper full con reports, but overall I'll say as a quickie that they were a hit. I had a table at both of them and got to meet up with plenty of new and old art fellows alike. Roan (the tabletop RPG I did work on) has made it's proper physical launch as of Bronycon last month and was made available at Otakon as well. If any of you guys out there are interested, the PDF of the game is up for purchase on Drive-Thru RPG. There was a lot of work put in to make this game a reality and I'm proud to know that our initial launch has officially sold out. There will be more print copies made in the near future though, so anyone wanting an actual physical copy need only wait just a bit for the next run.
Other than that I've mostly just been a slave to the grind as it were and have been busy at my regular job. Hopefully with the changing of the seasons it doesn't get too much more hectic. My mother's health has also still been a matter requiring my immediate attention and she recently left the hospital after having another mini-stroke. Thankfully she is on the mend and showing strong signs of improvement, so maybe with some luck she won't be back in a hospital anytime soon. A lot of my delays have had to do with her health struggles, and I do apologize for that. I just want to be there for my mom in her time of need...
If anything else I just want to take this last bit here to say thanks to everyone who's stuck with me here for close to 100 posts. It's taken quite awhile to reach the milestone, but hot damn does it feel good. Til then, I'll catch you all next time!
