Thanos Holding Infinity- Fan Art

Why have Eternity, when you can hold Infinity?

I know this is coming quite a bit late to the whole Infinity War party, but here's my take on Thanos sporting the iconic universe-altering gauntlet.

Avengers: Infinity War was such a phenomenal blast, I felt a major compulsion to do some sort of artwork commemorating an experience that was essentially 10 years in the making.

When it came to my overall approach to this piece, I wanted to get back in touch with my American Superhero Comic Book roots, so tried to be somewhat evocative of my more favorite/prominent comic artists of that genre.

Joe Madeureira and Arthur Adams were (obviously) the most influential, and I can only hope that I've done both of those amazing fellows some degree of justice here.

Overall I had a great time working on this one, even though I will admit that the hatching and spotted blacks took more time than I would've liked them to.

Much like my other B & W works, I do intend to color this one in the future, but for now I'm simply happy to have the line-work completed, and I hope you all like it too.

Sorry for the wait, and thanks for your patience.

Ms. Bull (Colored Ver.) for the Shonuff44 Art Book

Here's the colored version of the Ms. Bull piece I did for :iconshonuff44: upcoming art-book, posted with his permission.

It was a straight-up blast working on this image from start to finish, but I do want to clarify that I do not take any credit for the Pure Beef logo she's sporting on her backside, as it's a stock image I took from a quick google search.

The logo belongs to its respective creator, and I simply felt like it matched the spirit of the image for a cute little joke if nothing else.

All the same, I had a ton of fun doing the digital colors, and I'd like to think I'm getting much faster with them in the recent weeks.

I hope you all dig the final results.

This picture was colored in the PC art program Krita.

Destroyed by Baiken- Fan Art

Baiken has always been one of my favorite characters from the Guilty Gear franchise, and I felt it was high-time to finally do some artwork of the one-armed, one-eyed, samurai bad ass.

Granted, this is only a screen-cap redraw of Baiken's Xrd Rev2 Destroyed move (Garyo Tensei) win-screen, but it's just such a downright cool shot I couldn't help but want to try my hand at rendering it.

Overall I'm fairly pleased with how the lines came out, and you can bet I fully intend to do a colored version (along with a background) of this in the very near future.

Hope you folks enjoy it.

Materials used was Micron Pens for the inks on 9 x 12in. Bristol Board.

The Scare Bear- Fan Art for Annihilation

I recently got around to watching the sci-fi horror mind-trip film Annihilation, and I gotta say it was an all-around solid experience.

The combo of a thought-provoking narrative, gorgeous visuals, a killer score, and a slight propensity for unapologetic violence checked all my  boxes.

Definitely got it placed on my top movies of 2018 list so far.

One of the many awesome creatures to come out of Annihilation is this bear-human hybrid I've dubbed "The Scare Bear" and I call it that, because this thing is downright terrifying.

If you haven't seen the flick, I don't want to give too much away, but if already you have, you'll know this bear is the stuff of pure nightmares...

And I love it for that!

I had a ton of fun rendering this bad boy, and I hope you all enjoy the results of the pencils. At some point in the future I may be inking this one, but I fear I might have bit off more than I'm capable of doing when it comes to that arena.

All the same, if there are any brave souls out there who want to take a stab at inking it themselves...?

P.S. My main man Joseph Silver did a fantastic ink-job on this, and you should definitely check it out. You can find it here.

Ms. Bull- For the Shonuff44 Art Book

At some point in the early summer of 2018, my awesome friend Shonuff44 is setting up to release a brand-new art book that will not only showcase his work, but that of fans and friends as well.

When we first discussed the idea of the book a few months ago, he gave me the right of first refusal, but what kind of friend would I be if I were to turn down a position in such a cool project?

Naturally I went for it, and this is the piece that came out.

Ms. Bull is one of my favorite characters of his cast (for some obvious and not-so obvious reasons) and I'd be remiss if I didn't say the artist (and grand-master of Thicc ladies) Cutesexyrobutts didn't have a notable influence on me going into this.

There is a color ver. of this picture, and I decided to go with doing digital colors for it, because the digital medium is an area and skill I really do need to develop and get back into the practice of.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the way the line work and grey-tones came out, and Shonuff44 seemed to love it a lot, so that's all that really matters.

Materials used were Micron Pens for the inks, and Copic markers for the grey-tones, all on a 9 x 12 in. Bristol Board.

Lady Ambar- Fan Art/Gift Art

This is an extremely late birthday gift-art for my buddy :iconchalodillo: creator and artist of the popular Katbox web comic Las Lindas.

I've been a huge fan of Las Lindas since it began (over ten years ago) and with the passing of Chalo's birthday recently, I figured I'd show my appreciation by doing up a piece of the High Prime- Lady Ambar.

Seeing as she's one of my personal favorite characters from the vastly large Las Lindas cast, I thought I would give drawing her in a skimpy gym outfit a shot, since that's a look I don't think has been done with her yet on the Ask the High-Prime Tumblr.

Besides, she just had a kid, and now she's gotta work off that baby-mamma weight.

Oddly enough, I got through this piece fairly quickly (given what my usual speed is) and it came out very much to my liking.

While I can't take credit for the stone formation behind her (as that's a background technique I picked up from another friend of mine :iconedwinhuang: ) I can lay claim to having the gradient of each individual piece as being my own spin on the idea.

Overall I'm glad I did this picture, and I can only hope that Chalo enjoys it as much as I enjoyed working on it.

Materials used were Micron Pens 0.2 0.5 for the inks, Copic Markers for the background, and No. 2 Pencil for the shading of the hair, all on 9 x 12 in. Bristol board.

Fio Germi- Fan Art

It probably comes as no real surprise, but one of my all-time favorite go-to arcade game classics is none other than the master of metalliferous mayhem known only as the Metal Slug franchise.

Ever since 1996 I've played through the installments with family and friends alike, stopping only because I ran out of quarters.

With the release of Metal Slug 2 in 1998, Fio Germi (agent of S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S.) has been my default character for the run and gun series.

Seeing how Fio easily stands as one of my top video game heroines, I felt I had to bring the heat on this piece (hence some of the meticulous details) although I do worry if maybe I went a tad overkill on the vest.

All the same, I'm at least glad I got this one out of my system, as it initially started out super-rough in the sketching phase. Thankfully I stuck with it, and I'm aiming to do an Eri Kasamoto companion picture in the near future.

Mission Complete!
